بِسْمِ ٱللَّٰهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

In The Name of God, The Most Merciful, The Ever-Merciful to His believing servants

إِنَّآ أَرْسَلْنَا نُوحًا إِلَىٰ قَوْمِهِۦٓ أَنْ أَنذِرْ قَوْمَكَ مِن قَبْلِ أَن يَأْتِيَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ

  1. Indeed, We sent Noah to his people, [saying], “Warn your people before there comes to them a painful punishment.”

قَالَ يَٰقَوْمِ إِنِّى لَكُمْ نَذِيرٌ مُّبِينٌ

  1. He said, “O my people, indeed I am to you a clear warner,

أَنِ ٱعْبُدُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَٱتَّقُوهُ وَأَطِيعُونِ

  1. That you should worship God (alone), fear Him and obey me,

يَغْفِرْ لَكُم مِّن ذُنُوبِكُمْ وَيُؤَخِّرْكُمْ إِلَىٰٓ أَجَلٍ مُّسَمًّى إِنَّ أَجَلَ ٱللَّهِ إِذَا جَآءَ لَا يُؤَخَّرُ لَوْ كُنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ

  1. He will forgive you of your sins and respite you to an appointed term. Verily, the term of God when it comes, cannot be delayed, if you only knew.”

قَالَ رَبِّ إِنِّى دَعَوْتُ قَوْمِى لَيْلًا وَنَهَارًا

  1. He said, “My Lord, indeed I called my people night and day.

فَلَمْ يَزِدْهُمْ دُعَآءِىٓ إِلَّا فِرَارًا

  1. But my calling increased them in nothing except in flight.

وَإِنِّى كُلَّمَا دَعَوْتُهُمْ لِتَغْفِرَ لَهُمْ جَعَلُوٓا۟ أَصَٰبِعَهُمْ فِىٓ ءَاذَانِهِمْ وَٱسْتَغْشَوْا۟ ثِيَابَهُمْ وَأَصَرُّوا۟ وَٱسْتَكْبَرُوا۟ ٱسْتِكْبَارًا

  1. And verily, every time I called them that You might forgive them, they put their fingers in their ears, covered themselves with their garments, persisted and were arrogant with (great) arrogance.

ثُمَّ إِنِّى دَعَوْتُهُمْ جِهَارًا

  1. Then verily, I called them openly.

ثُمَّ إِنِّىٓ أَعْلَنتُ لَهُمْ وَأَسْرَرْتُ لَهُمْ إِسْرَارًا

  1. Then verily, I proclaimed to them in public and appealed to them in private,

فَقُلْتُ ٱسْتَغْفِرُوا۟ رَبَّكُمْ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ غَفَّارًا

  1. I said: ‘Ask forgiveness from your Lord; Verily, He is Oft-Forgiving,’

يُرْسِلِ ٱلسَّمَآءَ عَلَيْكُم مِّدْرَارًا

  1. He will send rain upon you in abundance,

وَيُمْدِدْكُم بِأَمْوَٰلٍ وَبَنِينَ وَيَجْعَل لَّكُمْ جَنَّٰتٍ وَيَجْعَل لَّكُمْ أَنْهَٰرًا

  1. And give you increase in wealth and children and bestow on you gardens and bestow on you rivers.

مَّا لَكُمْ لَا تَرْجُونَ لِلَّهِ وَقَارًا

  1. What is the matter with you that you hope not for reward (from God, or believe in His Oneness),

وَقَدْ خَلَقَكُمْ أَطْوَارًا

  1. While He created you in stages.

أَلَمْ تَرَوْا۟ كَيْفَ خَلَقَ ٱللَّهُ سَبْعَ سَمَٰوَٰتٍ طِبَاقًا

  1. See you not how God has created the seven heavens one above another,

وَجَعَلَ ٱلْقَمَرَ فِيهِنَّ نُورًا وَجَعَلَ ٱلشَّمْسَ سِرَاجًا

  1. And has made the moon therein a light, and made the sun a lamp?

وَٱللَّهُ أَنۢبَتَكُم مِّنَ ٱلْأَرْضِ نَبَاتًا

  1. And God has brought you forth from the (dust of) the earth.

ثُمَّ يُعِيدُكُمْ فِيهَا وَيُخْرِجُكُمْ إِخْرَاجًا

  1. Then He will return you into it extract you (another) extraction.

وَٱللَّهُ جَعَلَ لَكُمُ ٱلْأَرْضَ بِسَاطًا

  1. And God has made for you the earth wide spread (an expanse).

لِّتَسْلُكُوا۟ مِنْهَا سُبُلًا فِجَاجًا

  1. That you may go about therein in broad roads.

قَالَ نُوحٌ رَّبِّ إِنَّهُمْ عَصَوْنِى وَٱتَّبَعُوا۟ مَن لَّمْ يَزِدْهُ مَالُهُۥ وَوَلَدُهُۥٓ إِلَّا خَسَارًا

  1. Noah said, “My Lord, indeed they have disobeyed me and followed him whose wealth and children give him no increase except loss. 

وَمَكَرُوا۟ مَكْرًا كُبَّارًا

  1. “And they have plotted a mighty plot.

وَقَالُوا۟ لَا تَذَرُنَّ ءَالِهَتَكُمْ وَلَا تَذَرُنَّ وَدًّا وَلَا سُوَاعًا وَلَا يَغُوثَ وَيَعُوقَ وَنَسْرًا

  1. “And they have said: ’You shall not leave your gods, nor shall you leave Wadd, nor Suwa’, nor Yaghuth, no Ya’uq, nor Nasr (names of their idols).

وَقَدْ أَضَلُّوا۟ كَثِيرًا وَلَا تَزِدِ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ إِلَّا ضَلَٰلًا

  1. “And already they have misled many. And (O God), do not increase the wrongdoers except error.”

مِّمَّا خَطِيٓـَٰٔتِهِمْ أُغْرِقُوا۟ فَأُدْخِلُوا۟ نَارًا فَلَمْ يَجِدُوا۟ لَهُم مِّن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ أَنصَارًا

  1. Because of their sins they were drowned, then were made to enter the fire, and they found none to help them besides God. 

وَقَالَ نُوحٌ رَّبِّ لَا تَذَرْ عَلَى ٱلْأَرْضِ مِنَ ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ دَيَّارًا

  1. And Noah said, “My Lord, do not leave upon the earth from among the disbelievers an inhabitant!

إِنَّكَ إِن تَذَرْهُمْ يُضِلُّوا۟ عِبَادَكَ وَلَا يَلِدُوٓا۟ إِلَّا فَاجِرًا كَفَّارًا

  1. “Indeed, if You leave them, they will mislead Your slaves, and they will beget none except wicked disbelievers.”

رَّبِّ ٱغْفِرْ لِى وَلِوَٰلِدَىَّ وَلِمَن دَخَلَ بَيْتِىَ مُؤْمِنًا وَلِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَٱلْمُؤْمِنَٰتِ وَلَا تَزِدِ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ إِلَّا تَبَارًۢا

  1. “My Lord! Forgive me, and my parents, and him who enters my home as a believer, and all the believing men and women. And do not increase the wrongdoers except in destruction!””
