بِسْمِ ٱللَّٰهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

In The Name of God, The Most Merciful, The Ever-Merciful to His believing servants.

إِذَا ٱلشَّمْسُ كُوِّرَتْ

  1. When the sun Kuwwirat (wound round and lost its light and is overthrown).

وَإِذَا ٱلنُّجُومُ ٱنكَدَرَتْ

  1. And when the stars shall fall;

وَإِذَا ٱلْجِبَالُ سُيِّرَتْ

  1. And when the mountains shall made to pass away;

وَإِذَا ٱلْعِشَارُ عُطِّلَتْ

  1. And when the pregnant she-camels shall be neglected;

وَإِذَا ٱلْوُحُوشُ حُشِرَتْ

  1. And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together;

وَإِذَا ٱلْبِحَارُ سُجِّرَتْ

  1. And when the seas shall become as blazing Fire or shall overflow;

وَإِذَا ٱلنُّفُوسُ زُوِّجَتْ

  1. And when the souls shall be joined with their bodies;

وَإِذَا ٱلْمَوْءُۥدَةُ سُئِلَتْ

  1. And when the female (infant) buried alive (as the pagan Arabs used to do) shall be questioned.

بِأَىِّ ذَنۢبٍ قُتِلَتْ

  1. For what sin she was killed?

وَإِذَا ٱلصُّحُفُ نُشِرَتْ

  1. And when the written pages of deeds (good and bad) of every person shall be laid open;

وَإِذَا ٱلسَّمَآءُ كُشِطَتْ

  1. And when the heaven shall be stripped off and taken away from its place;

وَإِذَا ٱلْجَحِيمُ سُعِّرَتْ

  1. And when Hell-fire shall be kindled to fierce ablaze.

وَإِذَا ٱلْجَنَّةُ أُزْلِفَتْ

  1. And when Paradise shall be brought near,

عَلِمَتْ نَفْسٌ مَّآ أَحْضَرَتْ

  1. (Then) every person will know what he has brought (of good and evil).

فَلَآ أُقْسِمُ بِٱلْخُنَّسِ

  1. So verily, I swear by the planets that recede (i.e. disappear during the day and appear during the night).

ٱلْجَوَارِ ٱلْكُنَّسِ

  1. And by the planets that move swiftly and hide themselves,

وَٱلَّيْلِ إِذَا عَسْعَسَ

  1. And by the night as it departs;

وَٱلصُّبْحِ إِذَا تَنَفَّسَ

  1. And by the dawn as it brightens;

إِنَّهُۥ لَقَوْلُ رَسُولٍ كَرِيمٍ

  1. Verily, this is the Word (this Quran brought by) a most honourable messenger (Jibrael (Gabriel), from God to the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him)).

ذِى قُوَّةٍ عِندَ ذِى ٱلْعَرْشِ مَكِينٍ

  1. Owner of power, and high rank with (God) the Lord of the Throne,

مُّطَاعٍ ثَمَّ أَمِينٍ

  1. Obeyed (by the angels), trustworthy there (in the heavens).

وَمَا صَاحِبُكُم بِمَجْنُونٍ

  1. And (O people) your companion (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) is not a madman;

وَلَقَدْ رَءَاهُ بِٱلْأُفُقِ ٱلْمُبِينِ

  1. And indeed he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) saw him (Jibrael (Gabriel)) in the clear horizon (towards the east).

وَمَا هُوَ عَلَى ٱلْغَيْبِ بِضَنِينٍ

  1. And he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) withholds not a knowledge of the unseen.

وَمَا هُوَ بِقَوْلِ شَيْطَٰنٍ رَّجِيمٍ

  1. And it (the Quran) is not the word of the outcast Shaitan (Satan).

فَأَيْنَ تَذْهَبُونَ

  1. Then where are you going?

إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا ذِكْرٌ لِّلْعَٰلَمِينَ

  1. Verily, this (the Quran) is no less than a Reminder to (all) the Alameen (mankind and jinns) .

لِمَن شَآءَ مِنكُمْ أَن يَسْتَقِيمَ

  1. To whomsoever among you who wills to walk straight,

وَمَا تَشَآءُونَ إِلَّآ أَن يَشَآءَ ٱللَّهُ رَبُّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ

  1. And you will not, unless (it be) that God wills, the Lord of the Alameen (mankind, jinns and all that exists).
